HF Station

The HF position has changed a lot through the years but currently comprises of a Yaesu FT-950 with a Heil Pro-set (DX Insert) along with MFJ Manual & LDG Automatic ATU and a Signalink USB for digital modes. The position has a dedicated computer all the amateur radio programs you are ever likely to need like Ham Radio Deluxe, MixW and Win-Test.

Antennas are a inverted half-size G5RV with 80m coils at 28 feet and a 80m L. Plus assortment of antennas are hanging up in the shack ready for use, including a Hustler 6BTV vertical and dipoles.

VHF/UHF

The VHF/UHF position is primarily a ICOM IC-910HX which has a Sennheiser PC-350 headset and homemade digital mode + cat interface. Antennas are a 5 element 2m Yagi and 10elements 70cms Yagi both made by Diamond, these are controlled using a Yaesu G-5500 rotator and connected to the PC via a FoxDelta ST2 unit which allows automatic tracking of satellites.

Also available is a Yaesu FT-7800 connected to a Diamond V-2000 vertical at 30 feet; this is normally used for local simplex & repeater contacts or more commonly for APRS using a Foxdelta Foxview.

Portable

The portable equipment is made up of a Yaesu FT-817 and a range of antennas including the Super antenna MP1 (Inc 80m Coils), HF Dipoles and a 2m SOTA beam and a selection of poles to support them. Also have a selection of handhelds and an APRS Tracker normally used when out cycling.
